A tradition since 2009, the annual late-summer party of skiers, riders and other snow-addicted people, held in the garden of Frank & Lois Van Zanten, will once again take place. Participants enjoy drinks, share food, tell tall tales of their incredible snow experiences, talk about the upcoming skiing and riding season … and some even take time to look at the flowers. Morning of "sporting clays" instruction by HVSC member, Will Geiger, certified instructor at the Mid-Hudson Sporting Clays Club in New Paltz. Sporting Clays involves shooting at targets that are thrown from various trajectories, angles, speeds, elevation, and distance. The event will be in the morning of September 21st and cost between $50 - $75, depending on the ammunition and targets used. Eye and ear protection and a shotgun will be provided. Group size will be limited to 5 to ensure personalized attention, instruction, and active participation. There can also be another clinic if there is more demand.
